Thank you

I had a nice Friday. Managed to catch up with Sther and Hann over late breakfast. Awesome people who will do great things for God in future.

Thanks sther for praying with me. I felt a lot free-er, I have new perspective. Love to pray and worship with you! Missed numi and blene... =(

And thank you Keith, my zone supervisor for tonight's Bible Study lesson. Really learned so much through the Word of God and through the discussion.

My faith was enlarged today! I'm smiling ear to ear. Sther, now I understand why just now you said you were happy haha.

The missionary's goal

This is one of the devotion from My Utmost for His Highest - Oswald Chambers. As it has blessed me, I pray that you will be blessed too =) Don't forget that the more busy you are, the more you ought to spend time praying and reading the Bible.

In our natural life our ambitions change as we grow, but in the Christian life the goal is given at the very beginning, and the beginning and the end are exactly the same, namely, our Lord Himself. We start with Christ and we end with Him - "... till we all come ... to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ ..." (Eph 4:13), not simply to our own idea of what the Christian life should be. The goal of the missionary is to do God's will, not to be useful or to win the lost. A missionary is useful and he does win the lost, but that is not his goal. His goal is to do the will of his Lord.

In our Lord's life, Jerusalem was the place where He reached the culmination of His Father's will upon the cross, and unless we go there with Jesus we will have no friendship or fellowship with Him. Nothing ever diverted our Lord on His way to Jerusalem. He never hurried through certain villages where He was persecuted, or lingered in others where He was blessed. Neither gratitude nor ingratitude turned our Lord even the slightest degree away from His purpose to go "up to Jerusalem" (Luke 18:31)

"A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master" (Matt 10:24). In other words, the same things that happened to our Lord will happen to us on our way to our "Jerusalem". There will be works of God exhibited through us, people will get blessed, and one or two will show gratitude while the rest will show total ingratitude, but nothing must divert us from our "up to (our) Jerusalem".

"...there they crucified Him..." (Luke 23:33). That is what happened when our Lord reached Jerusalem, and that event is the doorway to our salvation. The saints, however, do not end in crucifixion; by the Lord's grace they end in glory. In the meantime our watchword should be summed up by each of us saying, "I too go 'up to Jerusalem.' "

Beautiful

How beautiful are the arms which have embraced Christ...
the eyes which have gazed upon Christ, the lips which have spoken with Christ, the feet which have followed Christ. How beautiful are the hands which have worked for the works of Christ, the feet which are treading in His footsteps have gone about doing good, the lips which have spread abroad His name, the lives which have been counted loss for Him.

24 hours

I was doing my work yesterday until about 5am this morning.. Have not completed my work but I know I needed the sleep in order to function the next day =)

So before I went to sleep, I started thinking about TIME.

It is common when people say they wish that they have more time. 25 hours a day, perhaps...

God made 24 hours in a day. Why so specific? I believe He knows our limit, He knows how many hours we can work, how many hours we can sleep (and how many hours of sleep is optimal for human), the time we need to eat, shower, have a leisure time, and most importantly, time set aside to be spent with Him.

In fact, the number one time slot that we should put in our daily schedule is our appointment with God.

I have a planner that I ALMOST cannot live without ehe. Even when meeting up with friends I got to write that down in my planner. God should be in my daily schedule. Morning, afternoon or/and night.

We always stretch ourselves to work more and sleep less. Being busy and productive is good, but make sure in the long run, the rest that God intended for you to have is used to be more productive in serving Him as you get older.

He knows why there is 24 hours a day. He pays attention to every need of sleep and time to finish work. He knows we need discipline too. Time management. So 24 hours is not too long, not too short.

All I wanna say is, be thankful for the 24hours in a day given to you. His timing is always perfect!

Giving my all

I was talking to my dad about the pimple near my eye. I have a HUGE pimple near my eye. That's what everyone notices when they see me. huhu. I told my dad I want to make sure the pimple goes away before this weekend so he said, "Try everything la. Oxy, T3 etc.."

I know this is not a very good analogy hahaha. But it made me think about some areas in my life. (although that was not what my dad intended haha). Random.

But just a thought:

When I want to achieve something, do I do everything I can? Or do I hold back something?

When we give God our worship, do we hold back? Just because we do not want to look 'weird'?

In our work and studies, do we give up? Just because we failed time and time again?

In reaching out to friends, do we really pray, build relationship? Or choose whom we think is 'more open minded' just because we are afraid of being judged?

In our giving of offering and time and service, do we give our leftovers?

I think we should take a step back from complaining "Why am I not good enough?" "Why is he more successful than me?" "Why is the world being so unfair?" and look at how far we have gotten and will go when we truly give our all.

Fighting Temptation

I used to enjoy watching my brother play Final Fantasy (dunno which number), as he would describe the characters to me, update me whenever there is level-up or improvement in certain skills. The one thing that I dislike about these kind of games is the part where you have to fight with the "Boss".

At every level the "Boss" is harder to fight. Little damage at every attack, but large damage when the character my brother played got hit.

In life we move one level to the next. It's not fun when we have to fight the same "boss" every round because we will get stronger, and it will be easier then to eliminate the "boss".

I'm in the season where I'm learning to fight my temptations, and overcome my challenges. It is of course irritating whenever it comes; but I know when I defeat them, I will gain my points, have my strength renewed, and move on to the next level.

Keep the fighting spirit up!

Updates!

I am desperate to go back home to Kuantan haha.

Uni life has been busy, but I'm used to it already. Been like that for every student since year 1 =D I still think life as a student is much simpler than working life. We can be more flexible with time.

Finally get to scrub the toilet. There's this feeling of satisfaction and uh..happiness to see the toilet clean. Well, there's always the bad side effect where my hands now are dried up and skin peeling. Effects of detergent. I will buy a pair of gloves...next time.. *procrastination*

This Wednesday I'll be having Graduation photo shoot with my dear classmates who will be graduating with me. This means, I will be ending my studies soon (end of the year).. sad.. But so happy that we survived this course together.

Now, back to my assignments! Bye~
