the spot

Here I am, at Bangsar Old Town Kopitiam. Often come here when I need to go church after work and when I'm not driving. it's nice having some time alone, got some space to ponder and think.

(I can't finish one piece of bread! Sad.)

Christmas is coming, I still got more gifts to buy.. Perhaps I'll buy after work tomorrow :) I've been just receiving all these while. Haven't truly give. This year I'm giving, I like this feeling. No wonder my sister loves giving. It's a good habit.

Coming January 17th, I'll be entering my final year of uni. It's scary and exciting at the same time. This is when faith has to come in.

I wonder how is everyone doing. Especially those I haven't been keeping in touch for months/years.. Still remember you all and keeping you in my prayer when your names pop in my mind.

Didn't plan for a blog haha. Just thought of updating while waiting for my friend to pick me up.

Have a great Christmas and new year. Plan well :)

what a day!

First, I woke up late.. Heh.
Rushed to church, sound checked keyboard for Emerge Jr, had flu.

Then, waited for carol practice. Everyone was late because they had lunch with family.
Got a call from my choir head to replace her as backup vocalist as she was unwell-my heart skipped a beat. No attire, no practice..(And I woke up late so I looked messy). Thank God for another girl who could take over

Lunch- food from emerge jr was out huhu. Waffle store at the nearest cafe was closed. Thank God, there are lots of leftovers from the guests, mostly untouched :)

Carol- started practicing late. TV2 crew was coming at 3pm and we rushed.. Took church van to sunway pyramid. Accident. Kancil knocked us, we hit the civic in front, civic hit proton in front. Anyway, carolling at Love is a Verb (sunway pyramid) was fun!
Church- rushed back to church for choir practice. Changed clothes, make up, prayer meeting, church service, meet up with cg members, dinner.

Car- then my car alarm kept ringing :( called dad, dad called, called dad, etc. Then the car alarm stopped ringing. Then car cannot start :( pushed start the car (thanks diming for pushing) and boleh jalan sudah.

It was a day with a lot of experiences, a lot to thank God for :) I'm protected.

With Numi

So, I went to PJ Live Arts Box Office to get the tickets

And had dinner with Numi! Haven't met her in a year? Got to catch up a lil..

Ya, we ate here.

Then, it's time for the show! I enjoy musicals a lot. I think both of us can appreciate theatrical stuff... haha. It's RM55/RM75 so it's reasonable price for a quality show =)

Loved Juwita's voice! Love the song "Be it unto me"

The theater was not really big.. But the team made full use of the space on stage. Support Malaysian arts! Go watch ;)

To numi:

Thanks for the time spent! I'm sure there will be a time when we can spend longer ya =) in the meantime we'll keep to our emails haha.

So, I did a cover of 'Use Somebody' for Esther. Her birthday just passed =)

Well, Esther is someone I met at MCKL (Methodist College KL) and we became close almost instantly. Somehow we found common ground and took interest in our not so common grounds haha.

If you are her friend, you should know that she has been making videos (covers) of some songs. So I did a cover for her (finally) after many months delaying it. Last night before I sleep I listened to this song, this afternoon I texted Chuan Sheng (the guitarist) to learn up the song, he came over my place before CG and we recorded it using my roommate's Nokia handphone (not bad) once, and uploaded it.

I shared it on facebook (I became more daring after posting the birthday song for Tiffanie), so here it is!

um. don't laugh.

My date with Yen Nee

Unfortunately, we love the food and took only one picture. We went over to Downtown nearby where we lived after work. I ate some rojak, some Arabian toast (my favourite) and some mushroom soup =) I love simple food. Easy to eat, tastes good, with great company.

Yen Nee is my housemate, btw. She took that picture for memory =)

It's December!

One more month before we welcome a whole new year. Getting excited again, making new goals, feeling determined to achieve those goals... So, what have you achieved this year so far?

I read back my short "list" I wrote to achieve this year. Not the detailed one. You can read here

Well, I did not achieve item 1 (sing "opera" style) as after a while I did not think it's my cup of tea. Really got to work on items 2 and 6 (better GPA and time management).

I'm still learning. This list was the first that I wrote so I've got a lot to improve on. Next list I'm gonna be more specific and detailed ;)

Having goals and visions in life is very important. Shows that you care about progress. It's about wanting to improve and learn; about setting a target and plan on how to achieve that target. Challenge yourself in 2011. Be better than 2010.

Oh, and constantly do evaluations on yourselves =)

I wanna be like you

When people say these words to me, of course I would be flattered.. but I will be a bit frightened as well. Many questions I would ask:

Am I good enough?
Why?
What did I do/say?
What if this is not the real me? *gasps*

People do observe other people and choose to model after those they look up to. Those they respect and are inspired by their lives.

I told Jesus, "I wanna be like You."
When I can be like Jesus, I can inspire others to not be like me, but be like Jesus.

Go around, inspire others.. make disciples.

Keep a quiet heart

Been reading this book during office hours (yes, I'm quite free during working hours heheh). It's compilation of Elisabeth Elliot's newsletters.

I'm very inspired by what she wrote. I pray that I'd have the ability to withstand all kinds of problems and still give thanks to God.

I wish I can share with you so many articles from this book, but I rather you read it :)

"Father, let our faithful mind
Rest, on Thee alone inclined;
Every anxious thought repress,
Keep our souls in perfect peace."-Charles Wesley

Deepavali 2

Just need to record this. You know the rice deco thingy during Deepavali, they draw some flowers and put colourful rice on the floor? Haha. I helped to dye the rice today at work. So colourful and pretty numi and blene would love to take pic of em.

Fun stuff. I got my hands coloured.

This is the end product =D Satisfied! We sort of rushed to finish this so can go home early... kekeke

Happy holiday everyone who will be having holiday tomorrow... ..

Retreat

During Deepavali break I joined the West Zone Leaders for the West Zone Leaders Retreat. Being part of the committee for my first retreat was quite fun. I got to know more leaders, really had a great rest and peace at Sanctuary Resort, Cherating.

Love beach, the sound of the wave, the breeze. Unfortunately I couldn't spend much time alone at the beach.

I didn't even know the picture above was taken until the photographer sent it to me on fb. I went to the beach first thing in the morning (after breakfast) but later on had to rush to first session. But it's alright =)

Looking forward to the next retreat!

Eucharisto Night

Eucharisto means "thank you". It's a night where we appreciate the guys. They have been the one who without asking, carry the girls' bags, books, make sure we walk in front, make sure we are safe, etc. W23 guys are really gentlemen. And so we, girls, prepare a night just for them, and also we invite other guy friends to join us! This is one of LoveAlert's big project for this month =)

These are the girls who worked so hard to make the night memorable and successful. They cooked 4 pots of noodles, bread butter puddings to feed 15 hungry boys (after the noodles they begged us to not feed them already haha), pizza, skewed meat with special sauce >.<, muffins and cream puffs! The girls have been cooking since 12pm. *applause*

We had dinner, ice-breakers, performances, best dressed guys to catwalk and prize giving, and ending song. =)

So these are the guys who were present. I hope they all had a memorable and great night.
Well, after the night W23 guys immediately helped clean up the hall and kitchen. I think it's in them already. Can't have them rest just for one night.

Thanks everyone..

Love Alert

This project was something that I have asked my CG members to participate in. I believe if we continually practice loving people, it becomes part of our nature. So, we started it on Nov 1st.

I'm not saying that we were not loving people before we did this and purposely do good to others just for this LoveAlert. Whenever any of the members did something good- fetched their friends, say "thank you" to the guards, stayed back at uni to help lecturer clean whiteboard, pay for the next car's toll, etc etc.. they would tweet @LoveAL3RT/facebook on LoveAlert about it (not to boast) but to encourage others to do the same.

I believe that the small act of love we give can make little changes. I don't mind little changes =)

You can play your part, not necessarily by joining LoveAlert. Just love.

run?

When you are facing problems where do you run to? Away from the problems? Blame others and not yourself and then blog a prayer to God asking for help?
We like giving excuses whenever things go wrong to justify ourselves.
When you are facing problems, you face them. Not turn your back on them. That makes you a quitter; that makes your problems bigger than God.
And sometimes, blogging about your problems will not solve anything unless you do something after publishing your blog post =)

Don't blame your church/leaders if anything goes wrong
And then run to another church
If you don't fix you
Then you'll carry those problems into another church
Thinking of only benefiting yourself

*I was reading blog posts and status updates.. realized a lot of easily emo-ed young teens. Just thought I should share something and hope people get this. Also, I kept reading people posting their problems, but no solution or what happened after that. Don't be a complainer.

Cheers

When Love Came Down

This is what I do when I miss these girls too much. I watch this video..

I didn't show this video last year because I don't really like the Youtube promoting. But I kept laughing as I watched back this video, so it's for YOU =) Maybe it can put a smile on your face eh?

So, this video was taken as we were rehearsing for our Christmas performance. We wanted to see how we look like when we perform (totally awkward, I know) and how we sound (whether we blend or got out of tune or not).

Miss you girls and we should sing together again!

naomi, naomi

One of my closest friend
Is naomi.
I call her numi
And she blogs/emails like this-
Like a poem.
Her filing system is excellent
Labels, arrangements, neat+tidyness
I salute that.
I currently have 4-5 emails
Of different subjects
That we talk about/update each other about
It teaches me to group certain topics
And reply to the correct email :p
We are so different yet so similar
I'm proud to have her as friend :)

All the best in your finals, numinumi!
You are able to memorize the weird names
Able to answer every question right
+ having more than enough time

Will pray for you!

short break!

Happy deepavali to my Indian friends and to the rest, happy short holidays! I'll be heading off to Cherating tonight after work with the rest of the leaders from the West Zone.

If you are of the same faith, please pray with me for:

1. Safe journey
- There are 2 buses- 3pm and 8pm and a van leaving at 10am and a car leaving at 2pm)

2. Good weather
- Monsoon season is coming. Weather in Kuantan is going through some mood swings. We are having teambuilding session at the beach in the evening. So pray for a nice weather!

stadium of heaven

I'm not a football fan, but I was thinking of this illustration yesterday night...

I was thinking about those who are made a decision to accept Christ into their lives. When one soul is saved the whole heaven rejoices! I started imagining how loud would it be?

I imagined a football match and the angels scored against the devil in the Stadium of heaven. One soul saved and the crowd cheered!! Danced around, singing in unison, the devils got angry. But noone cared.

If in a real football scene it is that crazy, imagine heaven. Thundering roar and loud rejoicing for that ONE soul. Probably a hundred times louder. You and I matter to God.

Like what Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke said, "Plunder hell, populate heaven"

"Follow Me"

Notice that there are 2 steps before following Christ:

Deny self --> take up your cross --> follow Christ

You see, you gotta deny yourself and take up your cross before you follow Him.

You can't also just deny self but not take up your cross. Life with Jesus does not guarantee smooth sailing life. Life with Him guarantees a place in Heaven. An everlasting life. But you got to bear the cross. (Not His cross haha. Your own cross-a smaller one cz your not carrying the weight of the world)

And you can't take up your cross without denying yourself then follow Him. Following Christ requires you to put Him as priority, not you. There's no more selfish desires, but desire for the will of God in your life.

But here's the awesome part. Following Christ is not all gloomy and sad, challenges after challenges. It is the best decision because God promises rainbow after rain, light after tunnel, joy after sorrow, solutions after problems.

See, once you are able to follow Christ, He lives in you, you are assured of all the promises in the Bible.

It takes two

I was thinking about how much God loves me
Then I started thinking about how much God loves my family, my prayer partners+bestfriends, my CG members, my church...
Then I started to think...
How much God loves the entire world
Those in the past, present and future...

It was a one-way love to those who don't believe.
He loved us first, before we even know him.

Doesn't that sound a lil crazy?
I hear my friends talking about love. How they don't wanna wait anymore for the person they "love" because they are not being loved in return. It is ok :) Because all of us are human, our love aren't perfect like God's love.

Only one person's love is perfect.
He is the one who died for us.
He doesn't mind waiting for those who doesn't love Him back

Imagine when we love one person who doesn't love us back? Worst if that person even hates us... Imagine the feeling.. Now put yourself in Jesus' shoes (sandals)

Be thankful that you're being loved by one man who will not give up loving you :) it takes two to build a relationship.

influence in another world

A lot of people find it easy to express themselves by blogging, twitter-ing, updating status on facebook, display message on msn, etc.

I wonder if they realise how many people are reading what they are saying.
How many of those people are strangers who were blog-hopping and landed on their blog?

I wonder if they realise the impact they can make through a single status update or through a blog post or youtube video...

When you post something angry, you are not releasing your anger (because you will re-read what you have just posted); you are not helping others, not helping yourself. When you post something positive and motivational, there's a chance you can save someone/yourself.

Think before you post something up; not feel before you post something up

You and myself included- we are internet users (because you are reading my blog). How are we influenced as the reader and the author?

Can you make a difference through what you put online?

1st week in office

What I did:

1. My favourite: spin around the chair. It spins very smoothly.

2. Trying to beat my Sudoku best time

3. Study FM (financial maths) and P (probability) papers.. Not because I'm taking those papers, but I simply got nothing to do.

4. Read newspaper

5. Read tweets and blogs

6. Over and over again..

7. Spin..whee~ (can you feel the sarcasm?)

8. Checking my watch.

9. Finished 2 novels

10. Blogging

I'm "dying". I can't stand sitting/spinning around. I need suggestions. I learnt nothing so far. My friends who are interns here are doing so much already. They told me it's time for me to rest, but I'm feeling restless like this.

Dress

During my holiday, my parents brought me out to look for formal clothes, for office wear. There was one particular boutique that had so many choices that are suitable for me to try on, and buy. Plus, most of the clothes there are on sale. My fitting room was full of clothes.

I tried blouses, dresses, jackets, coats...

There was one particular dress that I tried on. It was very comfortable, fitted me perfectly. But it didn't not suit my style. Colourful, cute with ribbon at the front (huge ribbon) haha. I just tried it on because my parents just picked and put in the fitting room. My lil sis bought it in the end.

So true right? Sometimes you thought you had it. Fits you perfectly, you are comfortable with it, but if you look at it properly, it does not fit you, your personality and character.

Choices. Comes all the time. Decisions to make. Don't only decide base on your current feelings. Rather, ask yourself questions that make you pause and think thoroughly.

If only it is as simple as picking a dress ;)

In KL

Unfortunately, I couldn't go out much and take more pictures because in the day time I stayed at home while the workers are painting in the house. "Jaga rumah". But I had fun taking videos of my lil sis. She loves the camera, so she's.... crazy in front of the camera.

Whenever I'm back home, there's no stress. I almost left my hp aside the whole four days and went online for one day only (because they were painting and had to uplug the modem).

Baru three days didn't online and I'm lagging behind numi's blog. Must catch up. Tomorrow's first day of industrial training!

I'm back!!

Currently back home in Kuantan. I'll take lots of pictures (I hope) and videos. House still in a mess, right now just left the painting jobs, painting outside the house and tomorrow they will paint the living room! =D So when I come home in December, everything will be done wooooohooo!

In the meantime I will help to clear up some stuff. Can you imagine I forgot which switch is for which.. and I had trouble opening and locking the main door. ha ha

Journey back home was great, get to catch up with Abelene (finally). Thanks Jason for driving!! I will be updating soon! Today's rest day, didn't go out, slept in... Yes, I finally got some sleep! It was a sleepless month for me, night turned day turned night, I got confused with my time haha.

Fruits

I'm going back Kuantan this coming Wednesday! Trying hard not to think about my coming holiday so I can focus on my last two papers, but I'm excited! =D I will be able to go back to the newly renovated home, parents, lil sis, the puppy-now-dog, Ruffy, the piano, the astro, the beach, the cendol, the clean, straight roads with funny signs saying "Tak malu ke? Potong Q"

*ahhhh excited*

In the meantime, I discovered I have 5 tomatoes the size of my fist still not finished. I got 5 days to finish. One tomato a day. Then I discovered 7 apples, going to rot soon.. so I got to finish it already. Then there are oranges in the fridge untouched for many months. Still can eat, so I'm eating tomatoes, apples and oranges for dinner today.
but I ate 3/4 tomato and I'm full =.="

Okay, I gotta continue eating them, then get back to studying. Bye!

i'm 21

As usual, I love a simple celebration, just spending time with my family and friends. Maybe because my birthday is always near/during my major exam period. My parents and sisters came to visit me =D I'm a happy girl. We went to Vin's for early birthday dinner. (highly recommended)

James' gift! Thanks man =)

Really grateful for my parents who took the effort to come to KL. Initially they didn't plan to come because the house is still under renovation. But my older sis persuaded them =.=" So, they washed the cars, and came. My mum passed down her Viva for me to drive in KL. It looks, smells, feels brand new actually..

That night, there are many many facebook notifications and smses. My bb's light kept blinking the whole night hahah. Thanks everyone for the wishes!

My CG members surprised me with a cake after church service the next morning.. I never expected it (that's why I called it a surprise) as all of us are suppose to prepare for finals. *ahem* They gave me a portrait of me, and a notebook with birthday wishes from Keith, my zone supervisor, Lee Choo, my sub zone leader, choir members, CG members, and church friends. I read every single message and am truly touched. =)

Got a pink watch! Thanks, Lee Choo!

I was planning to stay up the whole night to study for my finals. So, I took a nap in the evening. Around 7.30pm, my roommate woke me up saying (in a very motherly tone), "Phoebe, your cellgroup friends are here..."
**note that I just woke up, hence my ultra blurness. I didn't think they came for my birthday. In my mind all I was thinking of is my coming exam.
So I went out, looked outside the gate on my right, noone. They were on my left =.=

"SURPRISE!!!"
I jumped (as you can see in the pic) and ran back to my room -.-
Anyway, they sang happy birthday, I cut the cake, I had to sing them a song before I can open my present....

It was a struggle, really

Tada! I got a new Bible! =D Sylvie and Pei Pei went to buy the bible for me without getting lost finding their way to the shop! haha..

Dinner @ Pizza Hut

I went for dinner at Madam Kwan's just now with the sub zone secretaries from West Zone. I was told that we will have dinner, then have a meeting. Ya, we did have meeting haha. But they celebrated my birthday too! I had a great time of fellowship and meeting with them =) Thanks, Cindy for the meal (a very filling one), thanks fellow secretaries for the gifts. I got a Hello Panda (it was suppose to fool me haha) and vouchers from Dorothy Perkins.

THANK YOU ALL for making my 1st few days of my 21st year a memorable one! I'll make everyday count =)

CLT Batch 16

Oops. My blog is dying... Here's an entry! =)

I was given the privilege to join this batch of Cell Leaders Training in July =) We had to attend 13 lessons, taught by our leaders and at the end of the training we will have tests + preaching test!

Well, I am very inspired by those who attended this training. We all come from diverse background and age (the youngest is 14!) but everyone came to learn. The leaders were great, all with different personality, teaching us not only what was in the manual, but their life stories.

Batch 16!

So, we finally graduated from our training! And we had our graduation dinner last Saturday. It was a fun time of fellowship, getting to know one another better.. We had makan, performances: I sang a song by Carrie Underwood called 'Temporary Home' hehe, Nicholas played violin, Wilson on guitar, Jessica and Andy sang a song each as well... and also, the impromptu song by our leaders: Heng and Zia Hau

After the dinner, with our leaders

Oh yes, we had awards given out! Obed Edom, Most Popular, Best Academic, Best Preacher and Best Potential Leader award ;)

The award winners with the leaders! (I just noticed we all wore white, and leaders with dark coloured clothes)

That's all for updates =)

Pictures are all from fb

Psalm 15

A psalm of David.
1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?

2 He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4 who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,

5 who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be shaken.

Change

One way to keep yourself calmed and relaxed is to do things that is not in the circle of your usual routine.

For me, I'm always handling admin work/studying. My getaway is washing the toilet -.- it keeps my mind off the normal troubles and focus on getting the dirt off the tiles/in between tiles.

Pick up a book to read something different that is not part of your syllabus.

Painting, gardening, sewing, singing, playing instruments, learn something new ... Something productive. A new language, perhaps?

Pray, read the Bible, and stop to listen everyday before you begin your work.

Today I did my quiet time, washed the toilet, did what I had to do for admin works and study (still studying), but I don't feel tired, somehow :)

Gotta go back to my notes! Tomorrow's test.

busy b

I think I'm quite busy.. With studies, church and other involvements.

So, I would like to apologize if I took a few hours (or days) to reply your smses, emails, fb msges, etc. And if I ignored your msn or replied but after a while did not reply (yes, it was intentional if I was busy). I do read the messages and put them aside in another part of my brain. I can't multitask. I'm still learning it, but for now my mind has partitions. That's why I took so long to reply (unless it is urgent)

Anyway, I want to thank blene for her msg this morning. It's about the same passage I preached during MYF sunday a few years back, with the same emphasis. So it's a good reminder.. :)

(This post is simply to blog something new. When I can think of a nicer post I'll post it up)
Goodnight!

Stand up

When you fall, it is only natural if you stand up again. Some people can stand up immediately, some need more time.

For example, when I fell from the stairs last year, the process of falling down was not painful. The pain comes when finally I stopped falling- I reached the ground. I could not stand up immediately. I needed to readjust myself first, attend to my wounds/bruises, take a breath until the pain ceased. Then I stood.

It was faster when a friend is there to lend a helping hand, assisting you to stand up again, accompany you while you limp until you can walk on your own again.

Same goes to your roller-coaster life. You will fall, but eventually you will stand up again. Don't stay on the ground. Most importantly, don't fall into the same hole again.

little things

I've been driving a lot these days. Most of the time alone. This gives me time to think, pray, sing songs, and think more... especially when there is traffic jam =.= *note: thinking is not daydreaming hehe.

I've been thinking of what little things I can do to make huge differences in others and myself (for the better). Started to list things down in my mind. Because I want to do something other than my daily routines.

1. Smile at the guard when he opens the (what-do-you-call-it) tiang for you on the way out and in my condo... regardless if he talks a lot or if he took his time

2. Complain less

3. Say "thank you" to the people who served you, even if they served you without a smile. eg waiter, shop owners, friends, etc

4. Help the cafeteria people to put your dirty plates into the basin after eating... so that the table won't be dirty for the next group of students who are going to eat.

5. Be nice to the drivers on road. Give them way and then give them a smile. Or show signal of apologizing if you blocked them... instead of producing angry drivers, let's try to create as many non-angry drivers on the road, shall we?

6. Learn to compliment others sincerely

7. If you have nothing better to say, zip your mouth. =)

8. Admit you're wrong if you are wrong. In other words, time to let your pride down

9. Taxi drivers are friendly and it's good if we don't treat them as our 'driver'. Try talking to them! (Gotta becareful too tho)

So, do let me know if you have other suggestions =)

Despicable me

I just watched that movie! Yay! It's so cute.... "so fluffy!!!"

These few weeks (and for the next few weeks) my schedule was so packed and I kept thinking of watching movie. I love movies, that's why it's easy for me to sit in front of the TV (in Kuantan) since we subscribe to Astro at home.

Go watch this movie if you like cute little things and feel like squeezing and pinching and gerammmm the lil girl. The 3D effect was quite chun also!

Now that I have enjoyed for a few hours, it's time to study again

Ephesians 5:1-2

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Relationship

Relationship is very important to me. I treasure my friends and family and I will never stop giving thanks to God for them in my life.

I've blogged about the girlfriends who have impacted my life, stay close to me until now through any kind of season I'm in. Now I shall blog about another group of people.

Without them, I don't think I am able to survive in KL. I don't think anyone can live without relationship. So, you see me surviving until now (Year 2 Sem 2). It's because I have support from them.

Firstly, is relationship with God. He loves me, guides me, comforts me =) Without Him, I'm kosong, nothing, habis.

My parents has been very supportive in everything I choose to do. They trusted that I can take care of my time as I chose to be involved in so many activities...

When I asked my dad if I can join The Canticle Singers, he did not question my ability to cope with my studies (unless I called him up to complain about how tough my studies are) haha.

My sisters are very dear to me. I'm so proud of Gail when she recently received an award from Trinity Guildhall Outstanding Achievers Award *standing ovation*

Both my sisters are very sacrificial. They without hesitation will lend me a help (ok, maybe with a lil hesitation haha.. sisters ma...)

As emo and cool as my bro look, he's quite a fun guy especially when it comes to music, youtubes (and beauty pageant haha).

Spending time with him and Pao helps me to destress. I wanna meet up with Pao for makan.

Not forgetting my housemates. We cook healthy food, stress together, do 5 online assessments (for each other) together, car rosak we jalan together.

In a way staying in the same house will give me some pressure to push me to study hard. In case they are discussing their tutorials, I don't wanna be blur among them =P

This is one crazy, impactful and aweeesome group of prayer warriors! The MYPG/LYPG mates! They may look insane here, but watch out.. and get ready for a great revival. I definitely learn a lot from them although I didn't get to see them that often. Enjoy every moment spent with them praying.

My CG members! I love love spending time with them, be it praying, makan, badminton, fellowship.... anything. Fun, caring, humble, down-to-earth group of people who loves God and one another.

I'm so happy that we are open to one another. Unafraid to show our weaknesses that we can improve, pray for one another and share our struggles. Grateful for my leaders who are there to support no matter what.

This is the new batch of UTAR CF members. I pulled out from the committee as I have my limits heh.. but I sayang this CF. Believe that this CF will be known in uni, that many people will join and know God =) If you are wondering why my CF has so many guys, it is because my campus is for Faculty of Engineering and Science haha

The cast of Two from Galilee. I really miss them, miss singing with them, going rehearsals, dancing around and acting like noone is watching =P

During the whole duration of rehearsals and productions (2 long weekends of shows), I was in the midst of finals and many many tests. They have been an encouragement to me. I always felt relaxed when I'm singing with them and forget about my studies (for a while).

I stand in awe of You

Every time when I come into His presence, to worship and just to be still... I just want to listen to what He wants to say. There's so much to discover in the beauty of God's holiness..
So much to receive.. =)

haha..

There's another time when my heart just want to burst out with thanksgiving and gratitude..
As loud as I can, sing praises to the Most High
"I stand, I stand in awe of You"

"You are beautiful beyond description
Too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension
Like nothing ever seen or heard..."

Because words are not enough to describe that feeling... when we meet Him *screams* *jumps around* *falls down*
It is not about how well we sing, or how we raise our hands..rather, the condition of our hearts.

Can you imagine the relationship we have with the Almighty? It's much much better than knowing a celebrity =P Let us learn to never ever take His presence for granted, but enjoy every moment of it.

(sorry, this post is a lil messy. my thoughts are everywhere)

I can't wait for Esther to be back, for Naomi and Abelene to meet up and berdoa..

You very the geng Part 1 version 2.0

This post is for my dearest Abelene Phua.

Since she posted "You very the geng" Part 1, 2 and 3 for me on various occasions, I feel I'm not qualified to earn that title. So I'm giving her latest version.

Firstly, I'm so proud of you for trusting God in literally the things unseen. I'm sure God is grinning so widely up there, the angels must be giggling at how your legs were shaking but yet you believed and trusted Him all these years!

Seriously, reading your blog encourages me for one, and many other people!

So, I'm going to let other people read your testimony. And those reading my blog, don't just read her top posts. She has many more testimonies hehe. Be encourage, and choose to live a life fully depended on God. You'll have many testimonies too =)

Tired yet?

The one thing that sustained me throughout my busy, packed schedule... balancing between studies, social life and ministry is having the joy in working.

I like what I'm doing, the ministry I'm serving in, the friends I have. So, instead of feeling pressured or stressed out in getting things done on time, I get to do things more efficiently without feeling frustrated easily. Of course, at times when things are not perfected, I won't be satisfied =P

The point is, try not to complain so much. About anything. But take on the challenges ahead, love them, and depend on the strength of God to overcome them!

When you begin to like what you are doing, you will not hesitate to finish it (hence, no procrastination), and you will do an excellent job. This doesn't mean that you can take up unlimited workload. Learn to say "No" too.. =) I'm still learning.

So, tired? Stop.and.pray. Seek the One who can give you the best rest that you can ever get.

Back to uni

Asia Conference just ended, and I'm so refreshed despite the sleeping at 1am and waking at 4am everyday to line up haha. At least I completed a book!

Was very inspired by the message preached by the speakers and how they pressed on to fulfill God's calling in their lives. Dr Yonggi Cho, leading the largest church in the world, started off his church with just 5 members (his family). Ps Reinhard Bonnke, evangelist who brought over 55 million to Christ in 10 years! Rev Dr Kong Hee and Dr A.R Bernard impacting the world with cultural mandate, Ps Phil Pringle's painting on prayer, refreshing..Steve Munsey with his dramatic preaching, Dr John Avanzini who never fails to give and teaching us to give our best into God's kingdom, living a life of example himself. And many many more super preachers!

Not to forget CHCKL POS team won!
(POS: parade of schools - cheerleading competition)

New semester: I'm gonna start strong, end strong this sem!

hee and i got new hairstyle..

I have a very funny friend

Her name is Abelene.

This is her first time on video cam. So she was so near to the mic, and I could only see her eyes =.= She didn't even know there's mic on her laptop.

Actually, I didn't know my laptop has built-in mic until I video cam-ed with Esther. heh.

Sama-sama noob.

Anyway, that picture above is just for laugh. To show you that I have a very funny friend. ^^

I have no idea who still reads my blog haha. Anyway, here's a short update =)

Had CG outing in Kuantan from Sunday til Tuesday. It was a great time bringing my CG members to my favourite place in Kuantan, TC! Also, I enjoyed the CG morning prayer and devotion time. We had Satay Zul, ikan bakar, playing at the beach, and an amazing time of fellowship. For pictures, can go to my Facebook to view them..

Right now, I'll be here in Kuantan until Sunday. I'll be heading to Singapore from Monday til Sunday next week.

1. Must catch up with some friends
2. Watch all the movies that I wanna watch!!!!!
3. Get a good good rest before Asia Conference next week!

Updates will come soon =)

Sorry I haven't been a frequent blogger. I'm now in the middle of my finals =) Okay, that's an excuse not to blog. I'm actually out of ideas hahahaha. I promise will give a proper update when my exams are over and whenever I have the inspiration/idea.

He said

"Stay here with me a lil longer, my precious one.."

That image of tea party, just Him and I.. Those who are close to me will know what that tea party means to me =)

I was dressed in a pretty, white dress. With ribbon at the back. Then I realized that was years ago. I was just a child.

He poured tea in my tiny cup. I had the greatest conversation. Laughing and giggling..

The fellowship with Him was just too awesome I didn't wanna move anywhere. I just kept on laughing and weeping at the same time.

He said,
"Your cup will not go dry. Ask from me and I'll pour you more.."

"I'm taking good care of you."

"Go on, run off now, I am still with you..."

I was in the same hallway. With many doors. He gave me that many options to choose from. It was my first time opening my first door, no longer in tea party after many years.

Going into my second door. I'm older now...

heads up

I like it when God gives me the heads up

Then I won't overeact when something sudden happens 0.O

or something unexpected occurs hahah

Thank God for giving me heads up..

Then I can maintain my 'cool'

*eyebrows up and down*

I like being cool. There's a certain level of gaya-ness...

Please forgive my randomness. Blame all these on my finals. ^.^

Sunday School II

Hey... kids, do you love Jesus?
Oh, yes! I love Jesus!
Are sure you love Jesus?
Very sure I love Jesus
Tell me why you love Jesus
This is why I love Jesus
Because He first loved me!!

Oh, how I love Jesus!
Oh, how I love Jesus!
Oh, how I love Jesus!
Because He first loved me!

Fun times..

He said

Do you trust me?
Yes. Wait, but I can't do this...

Do you trust me?
I want to.. ok, yes I trust You. Yes?

Do you trust me?
Yes

This was my conversation with the One above while I was on my way home from church. Then I fell asleep...

The same conversation again while I was showering.. haha
--------------------------------------

When Jesus called Peter to walk on the water. He said, "Come."
To me, it meant the same question, "Do you trust Me, Peter?" "Are you willing to let go of the boat and walk on the water?"
I wonder, when Peter stepped out, did he held onto the boat tightly...? Remember that the waves were high, wind was so strong..

Something that you feel secure in- are you holding on to that tightly because things doesn't look too good? Storms in life, so you're taking precaution steps.

Loosen up your grip =)

Sunday School

Suddenly Sunday School songs are stuck in my head while I was studying...

When I was young, I had no idea what was I singing hahah..

I've got JOY that is down in my heart
Deep, deep down in my heart
J.O.Y that is down in my heart
Deep, deep down in my heart

Jesus put it there
So noone can destroy *breaks*, destroy *smash*, destroy!*punch* *blows*
I've got JOY that is down in my heart
Deep, deep down in my heart....

Do with what you have

I read this post fr numi's blog. It's called "For the competitive".

A very nice way to illustrate and I thought of sharing here as well =)

imagine that you're a student in an art class
you and a dozen of students are learning from a master painter
one day your teacher displays a painting of his own
it's an incredible work of art and he wants each of you to copy it

you're about to begin working when you turn to look at the person next to you
you're surprised to see he has a larger brush and a different kind of canvas
you look around at the rest of the class
some students have acrylic paint, others watercolour, still others oil
and everyone is using different colours!

though you have the same assignment
each of you were given different materials.
this frustrates you.
some students have materials you would prefer for yourself
why should they get them?

This isn't fair
you think to youself
how do you expect me to duplicate your painting when people around me have so many more colours to choose from?

The teacher smiles
he says
i've carefully chosen brushes and paints for each of you
Trust me.you have what you need to complete the assignment.

Remember you goal is not create a painting that mirrors the person next to you
but to do your best with the materials i've given you
to replicate my painting

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Saviour
I surrender all

Love this hymn. A prayer of letting go and trusting Him. Him alone.

Updates

Saturday

I met up with Ruth after so long!! Even went to her hostel at UM to rest a while before heading to church for choir =) Had a great catch up time at Taman Jaya A&W. When we met in Seremban 2 years ago it was at A&W also =.="

Ruth a.k.a "partner setia" during high school haha

Sunday

After morning church service, Ah Wei, Yennee, Sylvie and I went to Klang for ba kut teh! =D
We planned it two weeks ahead. Something we looked forward to amidst our tests and assignments... Thanks, Ah Wei for the ride =)

Ba Kut Teh for 4 girls hee hee

We brought our own tea. This tea is the best! The sweet taste stays at the bottom of your tongue and tip of your teeth after you drink... like honey...

Ah Wei

Sylvie

Ah Nee refused to pose for me this time.. haha

pb!

We went to Ah Wei's aunt's house to pinjam toilet =P At the same time, to visit this cute lil girl..

So cute kan?

Went back to church after Klang for Subzone meeting. Had a great time praying and meditating upon the Word of God. It was my first time attending subzone meeting. So, a new experience... an eye-opener to how it is run.

Went to Bangsar and chilled out at Old Town Kopitiam (alone) for an hour plus.

Went to TCS rehearsal!

The Altos reunited again! without Geks =(

The choir sounded great although most of them are new. So, must must must go for their show (1st week of June!)

Jon looked tired haha.

Ya, this is the Jon we all know =D

Forgot to take pic with Colin... Jasmine took his back while he rehearsed with a soloist

Finally back home! Tomorrow must finish assignment and revise for the following day's test!

That's all for now... til next time =)

nee and daphs

ok.. this picture was taken last year (old pic) haha..

Yen Nee and Daphaney are two of the closest friend I have in uni. They are both now my housemates (Daph is my current roommate)

Daph is just a simple, lovely girl. She's like our 'mummy' at home. Wakes up very early, and wakes us up one by one to go shower... Make sure we have enough food (healthy food) haha. I'm simply thankful to have her living under the same roof as me =) And because of her, I am now able to wake up at 4am to study @.@ This morning she said, "I woke up at 6am la, so late" *speechlesss*

I brought Nee to church last year, and really I'm just so happy to see how much she is growing. Her childlike faith amazes me, how she trusted God in her results.. I hope you will grow more, learn more and be a great testimony to the people around you!

We have around 1 1/2 years in this challenging course! I know we can do it. Finish it well.. Hang on together k?

You'll never walk alone

I sang this song in my 1st production with The Canticle Singers. I remember as I was practising at home, my ex-housemate was so happy to hear that song because he's a Liverpool fan haha...

Anyway, I'm not saying I'm a Liverpool fan now.

At times when we walk through storms in life, we feel so alone. Up to a point we claimed that we got no true friends la, or God does not listen to my prayers.. He loves you more than me etc etc.

Why not we take this time to reflect. Jesus went to the cross, carrying the cross all alone. When he bore our sins, the weight of the world, Jesus cried out, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?" See, Jesus helped bridge us back to God. There's no way we are left alone.

So, don't keep saying that God doesn't hear your cries or God has abandoned you; else, Jesus' suffering on the cross will bring no significance...

You are the peace that guards my heart,
My help in time of need
You are the hope that leads me on,
And brings me to my knees

For there I find You waiting
And there I find release (or relieve..not sure)
So with all my heart I worship
And unto You I sing

For You alone deserve all glory
For You alone deserve all praise
Father, we worship and adore You
Father, we long to see Your face

For You alone deserve all glory
For You alone deserve all praise
Father, we love You
And we worship You this day...

Everyone goes through rough seasons in life... For me, it is this moment when I feel stretched to my limits. But, in the end it is all about God whom we give all glory, honor and praise to. Through Him, we find strength, we find peace.

Try not wasting time complaining, but excel in wherever we are, whatever situation we are in.

Gambate neh!

Easter

Over the weekend, I went to church for Easter production called "The Final Solution". My subzone leader shared testimony with some other leaders of the subzone. I believe their testimonies had touched many lives..

The drama team did very well. Everything went smoothly ie. the transitions between scenes, lights off and on, clear words, and the characters really got into the mood of the scenes.

It is always the scene where Jesus was whipped and nailed on the cross that made me wonder, "Why?"

Also, there was a song that was sung in the production that is playing over and over again in my head. I don't know what is the lyrics.. =/ But it was sung very well, the voices blended nicely =)

Many people gave their hearts to Jesus, there's such great joy in our hearts..

At times I wished the friends I invited will just come and witness this just once... heh..

this is a very random post

I'm actually very tired and sleepy..

so, I guess I should just dream that I am singing..

really really wanna sing Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton heh.. random. So maybe in my dreams I'll sound like a man.

facial, motorbike and assignments

Went to facial with Florrie to rescue my face =.= haha.. it's cheap at Genting Klang, so I gave it a try...

The last time I rode motorcycle (pembonceng saja k) was when I was still in Primary School. Chun Hean gave me a ride home after facial (and I held the back handle so tight my hands had pins and needles after the ride @.@). It's fun... but I think the first part of the ride all he could hear was me singing and making funny noises.

2 assignments to complete this week! Yes, pb you can do it!

This weekend got music workshop at Trinity Methodist Church PJ =) Can't wait!!

Goodnight!

calculus and oranges

Nee was doing advanced calculus tutorial and I menyibuk..

nee: what is 1st octant of a sphere?
me: 1/8 th lo..
*both discussing bout the angles of the spheres..*
me: rotate from 0 to pi over 4 for theta and the same thing for phi...
nee: i want orange! (she was explaining that the angle is wrong)

This is half of an orange

This is quarter

Then, 1/8...

or can cut this way also

So when put on the orange, it is 90 degrees... not 45...

This post is for memory. We ended up eating the orange and still discussing bout it.
I memang don't like calculus wan, but the oranges I like =)
