CLT Batch 16

Oops. My blog is dying... Here's an entry! =)

I was given the privilege to join this batch of Cell Leaders Training in July =) We had to attend 13 lessons, taught by our leaders and at the end of the training we will have tests + preaching test!

Well, I am very inspired by those who attended this training. We all come from diverse background and age (the youngest is 14!) but everyone came to learn. The leaders were great, all with different personality, teaching us not only what was in the manual, but their life stories.

Batch 16!

So, we finally graduated from our training! And we had our graduation dinner last Saturday. It was a fun time of fellowship, getting to know one another better.. We had makan, performances: I sang a song by Carrie Underwood called 'Temporary Home' hehe, Nicholas played violin, Wilson on guitar, Jessica and Andy sang a song each as well... and also, the impromptu song by our leaders: Heng and Zia Hau

After the dinner, with our leaders

Oh yes, we had awards given out! Obed Edom, Most Popular, Best Academic, Best Preacher and Best Potential Leader award ;)

The award winners with the leaders! (I just noticed we all wore white, and leaders with dark coloured clothes)

That's all for updates =)

Psalm 15

A psalm of David.
1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?

2 He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4 who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,

5 who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be shaken.

Change

One way to keep yourself calmed and relaxed is to do things that is not in the circle of your usual routine.

For me, I'm always handling admin work/studying. My getaway is washing the toilet -.- it keeps my mind off the normal troubles and focus on getting the dirt off the tiles/in between tiles.

Pick up a book to read something different that is not part of your syllabus.

Painting, gardening, sewing, singing, playing instruments, learn something new ... Something productive. A new language, perhaps?

Pray, read the Bible, and stop to listen everyday before you begin your work.

Today I did my quiet time, washed the toilet, did what I had to do for admin works and study (still studying), but I don't feel tired, somehow :)

Gotta go back to my notes! Tomorrow's test.

busy b

I think I'm quite busy.. With studies, church and other involvements.

So, I would like to apologize if I took a few hours (or days) to reply your smses, emails, fb msges, etc. And if I ignored your msn or replied but after a while did not reply (yes, it was intentional if I was busy). I do read the messages and put them aside in another part of my brain. I can't multitask. I'm still learning it, but for now my mind has partitions. That's why I took so long to reply (unless it is urgent)

Anyway, I want to thank blene for her msg this morning. It's about the same passage I preached during MYF sunday a few years back, with the same emphasis. So it's a good reminder.. :)

(This post is simply to blog something new. When I can think of a nicer post I'll post it up)
Goodnight!

Stand up

When you fall, it is only natural if you stand up again. Some people can stand up immediately, some need more time.

For example, when I fell from the stairs last year, the process of falling down was not painful. The pain comes when finally I stopped falling- I reached the ground. I could not stand up immediately. I needed to readjust myself first, attend to my wounds/bruises, take a breath until the pain ceased. Then I stood.

It was faster when a friend is there to lend a helping hand, assisting you to stand up again, accompany you while you limp until you can walk on your own again.

Same goes to your roller-coaster life. You will fall, but eventually you will stand up again. Don't stay on the ground. Most importantly, don't fall into the same hole again.

little things

I've been driving a lot these days. Most of the time alone. This gives me time to think, pray, sing songs, and think more... especially when there is traffic jam =.= *note: thinking is not daydreaming hehe.

I've been thinking of what little things I can do to make huge differences in others and myself (for the better). Started to list things down in my mind. Because I want to do something other than my daily routines.

1. Smile at the guard when he opens the (what-do-you-call-it) tiang for you on the way out and in my condo... regardless if he talks a lot or if he took his time

2. Complain less

3. Say "thank you" to the people who served you, even if they served you without a smile. eg waiter, shop owners, friends, etc

4. Help the cafeteria people to put your dirty plates into the basin after eating... so that the table won't be dirty for the next group of students who are going to eat.

5. Be nice to the drivers on road. Give them way and then give them a smile. Or show signal of apologizing if you blocked them... instead of producing angry drivers, let's try to create as many non-angry drivers on the road, shall we?

6. Learn to compliment others sincerely

7. If you have nothing better to say, zip your mouth. =)

8. Admit you're wrong if you are wrong. In other words, time to let your pride down

9. Taxi drivers are friendly and it's good if we don't treat them as our 'driver'. Try talking to them! (Gotta becareful too tho)

So, do let me know if you have other suggestions =)

Despicable me

I just watched that movie! Yay! It's so cute.... "so fluffy!!!"

These few weeks (and for the next few weeks) my schedule was so packed and I kept thinking of watching movie. I love movies, that's why it's easy for me to sit in front of the TV (in Kuantan) since we subscribe to Astro at home.

Go watch this movie if you like cute little things and feel like squeezing and pinching and gerammmm the lil girl. The 3D effect was quite chun also!

Now that I have enjoyed for a few hours, it's time to study again
