Who should apply for an audition
If you have attended or heard about our previous musical productions including, the most recent, Be Our Guest in May 2009 as well as A Grand Night for Singing in 2008 and like what you have seen or heard and would like to be part of a challenging voluntary choral group, you should audition with us. We would like to invite competent and committed performers to apply for an audition. You should be very comfortable in singing in your respective voice parts (i.e. SATB) both in standard choral formation as well as in random voice formation. If you do not know what SATB denotes please do NOT apply. Teamwork and bonding is important to us even though you may already be considered a soloist. A high rate of attendance, discipline, hard work and willingness to learn is required irrespective of your prior performing experience notwithstanding if you have sung at Istana Budaya, KLPAC, Lincoln Centre, Covent Garden, etc.. Learning and working together is a life long process. Egos and attitudes are best left at home. There is a minimum age requirement of 21, unless the candidate is gifted with an above average voice.
the story
Two From Galilee is, at first glance, the story of young woman and a young man. Very much in love, faced with family conflict, a hostile world and an awesome responsibility; they fight for their one true love and to fulfil their dreams. But then trust is shaken and love, questioned. A family's shame, a husband's doubt. But if that was everything, the story would be over halfway through Act I An inspiring story. But then not the real story. Not the whole story. The story is not just about love or tradition or family problems - though they all play a part. It's not about finding true love, but about life's purpose and calling.
the book
Marjorie Holmes, searched frantically for six years for a publisher for her novel Two From Galilee.
